The Patrol Operations Division consists of Patrol, Traffic, DUI Enforcement, S.T.O.P. Program, Street/Gang Team, Technology and Communications.

Captain Don Hunter

Captain Don Hunter is a long time Chula Vista Resident. He earned an Associate Arts Degree from Southwestern College and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Captain Hunter began his law enforcement career in 1983. Since then he has worked in the Patrol Division as an officer, agent, sergeant, lieutenant, and now division commander. He also has experience in the investigations division as a detective in property crimes and the sex crimes/child abuse unit. Captain Hunter was the unit sergeant in Juvenile and the founding supervisor of the Family Protection Unit. He also served as the investigations division lieutenant and public information officer.

Collateral duties included 20 years with the SWAT Team as an operator, team leader, and team commander.
